1. Name one way that the traditional and object oriented approaches to information system development are similar. Explain how they are similar?

The traditional approach in information system is it is a collection of processes. And these processes interact with data entities. When the system does in response to an event, the tradition approach includes processing models.

The traditional approach and object oriented approaches to information system development are similar in research method. Because in research method both the approaches are similar in finding the objects (or) processes collecting from the newspapers, websites and articles. But in traditional approach the system collects all the processes. But in object oriented approach the system collects all the interacting objects. In this way they are similar to information system development.

2. Name one way that the traditional and object oriented approaches to information system development are different. Explain how they are different?

The traditional and object oriented approaches differs in what happens when an event occurs. The traditional approach differs from the object oriented approach in the way the system in which it is implemented. In traditional approach the system is a collection of processes but in object oriented approach the system is a collection of interacting object. But in traditional approach the processes interacts with data entities But in objects oriented approach the objects interact with people and each other. In this way they are different to information systems development.

write a data dictionary entry for aprocess from the diagram 0 dfd that you drew in week4

use the following headings:

* process name
* process number
* purpose
* input data flows
* output data flows
* process description
* notes

1. Process Name:- the process name is nothing but as it appears on the dfd’s.

In the o dfd the process name is Accept order.It takes order from the customer.

2.Process number:- The process number is nothing but it identifies the process and indicates relationships.The process number for accept order is 1.0.

3.Purpose:-It is nothing but it accepts the order and order details from the customer and it processes the order and then it performs.

4.Input dataflows:-The standard DFD names for the input data flows to the entity.The input dataflows is order details.The system takes the order details from the customer and checks whether the dvd is there or not.

5.output dataflows:-The standard DFD names for the data flows leaving the entity.The output dataflows is order.The process system takes the order from the customer and performs the generating dvd process.

6.Process Description:-The process description includes the input and output data flows.The process description also documents the steps and the logic of the system.This process description includes structured english, decisiontablesand decision trees.

The structured english is nothing but it looks like programming statements.The structured english for the process name is get new order from customer if order confirm then generate the dvd else nodvd is available end.

THE DATA DICTIONARY ENTRY FOR SECOND ENTITY:

1. Process name:-The process name for the second entity is CHECK DVD.In this it checks whether the dvd is there or not.
2. Process number:-The process number for check dvd is 2.0.
3. Purpose:-The purpose is it takes the order from the customer ,generates the process and checks whether the dvd is there or not.
4. Input data flows:-The DFD names for the input data flows to the entity.In this the input dataflows for the check dvd is status message.It takes the order from the customer and if confirm the order then it gives status message.
5. Output data flows:-The DFD names for the output data flows is order details,confirm order,customer details and modify the steps.

Process description:-The process description is nothing but it gives brief description of the record.In the process description the higher level process contains a lower level processes.The lower level processes may in turn be further decomposed into sub lower level DFD’s.

1. what  is the traditional approach to systems development?

2.what is the object oriented approach to systems development?

3.what text books,journals and/or websites might be useful to search for articles about comparing and contrasting the traditional and object  oriented approaches to systems development?

Following are the various fact finding techniques for the above,which might vary with each approach

·       Document review

·       Observation

·       Questionnaires and surveys

·       Sampling

·       Research

With the traditional approach to systems development , document review is the first and foremost technique in finding the facts.document review is nothing but it is a plan to implement a project and it explains how the system works and then the observation is also used to verify the statements or queries to implement in systems development.In traditional approach the questionnaires and surveys doesnot satisfy because in this we will discuss a lot about how the projects are going but in this we cant implement this technique.In traditional approach we will take some records,files to perform the project

So in this sampling is satisfied.And finally research is satisfied because in traditional approach we also get the information through mails,news and books.These are the fact finding techniques that support traditional approach to systems development.

As with object oriented analysis where as the processors and data are treated as separate components,the only fact finding technique used for this approach is research only.Where research identifies an issues own properties and inherited properties for example the person class includes the student objects in which we will identify the characteristics.The research technique is effectively used in sending information between objects.None of the other fact finding techniques are useful for the object oriented approach to systems development , with document review because in this we use only how to plan but in object oriented this we cant plan anything we simply implement a program through the object oriented programming languages.And similarly with observations,questionairesand surveys,sampling the object oriented analysis approach to systems development doesnot satisfy the fact finding techniques.In object oriented approach to systems development we satisfy onlyresearch technique the remaining all is not satified.

The fact finding technique that is used to find the textbooks,journals,website we mostly use the questionnaires and surveys,research techniques.In this we use how to find the sites  about the information regarding the systems development in traditional approach and object oriented approach.In this these are the fact finding techniques that are mainly used in traditional approach and object oriented approach to systems development.
